Coordinator I, 4-H Program Support

$31,300 - $52,100 a year
**This position will be located in Columbiana, Alabama.**

The 4-H Youth Development Center of the Alabama Cooperative Extension System located in Columbiana, Alabama is seeking candidates for the position of Coordinator, 4-H Program Support. This position will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

1. Teaching (including 1-2 evening programs per week)
2. Program and staff evaluation to include seasonal staff training, maintenance, development, and assessment of evaluation documents, working with visiting teachers to gain feedback, and staff observations
3. Program logistics to include daily operations, organize and distribute pre/post class materials, and monitoring ACA (American Camping Association) regulations and documentation
4. Program development to include the maintenance of Science School and Summer Camp websites, social media pages, developing new classes and updates to current classes; and other duties as assigned.

The incumbent will be expected to respond to after-hours calls as needed. Supervision of staff is part of this position, but not a primary duty. During off season employee will assist with animal husbandry, it will be minimal and as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Entry into the applicant pool requires a Bachelor's degree in Education, Environmental Sciences, Recreation or a related field plus 2 years of experience in the delivery of educational programming. Candidates should have experience in inquiry-based learning and familiarity with experiential learning models.

When a candidate has the required education, but lacks the required experience, they may normally apply additional appropriate education toward the experience requirement, at a rate of one (1) year
relevant education per year of required experience.

American Red Cross lifeguard certification, CPR Certification and an Alabama Boating License must be obtained within 6 months of employment.

Incumbent must live within one hour travel time from the 4-H Center due to the nature of programming.

Desired Qualifications
Preferred requirements include familiarity with the Alabama Course of Study for grades K-12 in all subject areas; camping experience; Ropes and Challenge Course training, and Archery Certification.
